Philippa Frisby

Director, Co-Founder

Philippa, an independent filmmaker and Iyengar teacher, started her career in film and television after studying Comparative Religion at Bristol University. Her initial work in film includes ‘The Tale of the Three Lost Jewels’, 1994, the only feature film ever shot in Gaza. Her initial work in TV includes work on ‘Dispatches’, ‘ The Torture Trail’ and ‘ The Saudi Tapes ‘ now an important historical film , made by the first television journalist ever to interview Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan in 1996 before 9/11.

She has just finished her second feature documentary with Indigo Eye Productions in 2023.

Shashank was born in New Delhi, India. From an early age he was fascinated by the world of sound and images, having grown up in a family of media artists.

He completed his Bachelors and then decided to pursue his career in this field. He started working as a video editor in Delhi and assisted his father, a Radio Disc Jockey and commentator, learning through observation.

He went to film school to learn direction in Films and TV, and simultaneously taught himself cinematography and photography. He directed his first documentary film aged eighteen about a centre in Rishikesh, which empowers people with leprosy. He believes in working as a team and his relaxed and positive manner puts everyone at ease, while still being professional.

His work includes photography projects, several documentary films, animation, advertisements, films, music videos, short films and radio programmes.

Behind the scenes, Alok plays a pivotal role in supporting directors and producers, organising shoots, locations, and production timelines. His commitment to collaboration extends to nurturing relationships with suppliers and industry groups, promoting Indigo Eye with a quiet pride.

Alok‘s skills in directing and editing are wielded with a sincere desire to capture the essence of each project. In both creative and corporate circles, he stands as a modest yet impactful force, contributing to the art of film-making with unwavering dedication.
